School superintendents are a vital part of a district's community. You are in charge of overseeing student growth and achievement along with the day to day operations and long term planning of the school district and associated organizations. The impact collaborative data analysis has on student achievement and teacher practice reveal how integrating formative and summative assessments, collecting and analyzing data, and collaborating as teams, expands teacher understanding of data-driven decision making and leads to improved teaching practices. Administrative support for data-driven instruction is crucial. In your role as a superintendent and leader, you are tasked with building capacity in transforming the conversation around data that hone in on specific gaps in student learning.  This  presentation and discussion will emphasize the use of data to ensure that we identify and close the equity gap with a focus on the skills most affected by gaps in equity, as well as reporting tools that can help you discover skill gaps, disseminate student data, and provide student support in all schools and programs.
